About Your Tutor

Amy Pawlusiak

I have been a homeschooler for over 13 years. Having all my four adult children reach college and beyond (only the 5th child left in homeschooling!), I am continuing by helping others on their homeschool journeys as well.

I teach using multiple various curriculums, including:

Abeka, Seton, Mother of Divine Grace, Classical and traditional styles. Also, have worked with many individual subject curriculums, such as Easy Grammar, Saxon Math, BJU press, etc.

For years, I have taught various subjects for local homeschool groups, and as a teacher/tutor for Regina Caeli Academy, a hybrid school.

Proud to say that all my adult children have successfully advanced to a prominent all-boys Catholic high school in the area, or were homeschooled through high school. All have now gone onto succeed at colleges and universities.

Personal note: When selecting a homeschool tutor, it’s important to consider not only their experience and credentials, but also that their values and worldview align with your family’s. As a Catholic educator, I provide faith-centered homeschool instruction that integrates Catholic teaching, daily prayer, and meaningful spiritual resources to enrich both learning and faith formation.

What is homeschool tutoring?

Homeschool tutoring services include one-on-one support in specific subjects where a student needs extra help, as well as hands-on assistance working through the family’s chosen curriculum. This support helps keep students on track while providing practical relief for homeschooling families with busy schedules or many responsibilities.

How does curriculum design work for homeschoolers?

Curriculum design for homeschoolers involves creating customized lesson plans and educational materials tailored to each child’s learning style, interests, and educational goals. I work closely with families and students to develop flexible, realistic plans that keep learning on track throughout the school year, ensure curriculum completion, and simplify day-to-day instruction—making learning effective without becoming overwhelming.

What subjects can you tutor in?

I offer tutoring in a wide range of subjects, including math (K-8), science, language arts, writing, and social studies, ensuring that each student receives focused instruction in their areas of need.

How do you support large families in homeschooling?

I provide tailored solutions for large families by designing curricula that support multiple children, allowing for efficient learning and meaningful engagement across different ages and subjects. Instruction is streamlined—not reduced—to meet all academic benchmarks while avoiding unnecessary complexity. This approach encourages students to take ownership of their day-to-day learning while maintaining high expectations and strong educational outcomes.

What qualifications do you have for tutoring?

With over 13 years of hands-on homeschooling experience—including teaching in homeschool groups and hybrid programs—along with a strong educational background and a Master’s degree in Instructional Design, I bring both expertise and understanding to my tutoring and curriculum design work. I enjoy partnering with families to create learning experiences that truly support their students’ needs.
